Kleine Spinnenjager – Arachnothera Longirostra<\/h3>\n

Vanmorgen vloog dit exemplaar met een harde bons tegen het raam van de AC living in Luma It\u00e9 en bleef uitgeteld op de grond liggen.<\/p>\n

Ik heb het diertje onmiddellijk in mijn handen warm gehouden. De bek was wijd open en de lange spitse tong stak er nog een eind uit.<\/p>\n

De oogjes waren in het begin toe en ik vreesde het ergste. Na een minuut of vijf begon ging het snaveltje toe en de oogjes open. Het vogeltje kon dan al op mijn hand zitten.<\/p>\n

Dewa en Nyoman begrepen er niks van. Hoe kon dat\u00a0 nou? Bapak liep daar gewoon rond met een schuw vogeltje op zijn hand waar je normaal niet eens bij in de buurt kon komen.<\/p>\n

Zo moet Franciscus van Assisi zich dus gevoeld hebben.<\/p>\n

De kleine spinnenjager is een vogel van 16 cm lengte. Hij lijkt sterk op de diksnavelspinnenjager. Beide soorten zijn ongeveer even groot en vrij egaal olijfgroen, van boven donkerder en lichter op de borst en buik. De kleine spinnenjager heeft wat meer tekening op de kop, een donkere baardstreep en een licht gekleurde keel. Verder zijn er op de korte staart kleine witte vlekken op de eindrand. In streken waar beide soorten voorkomen, is de kleine spinnenjager het meest algemeen.<\/em><\/p>\n
